Group manager Johan Swanepoel joined City Parks Services in April 2007. His focus is on offering a high level of customer service and satisfying customer needs. He encourages his team to exceed customer expectations wherever possible. Johan's previous experience with parks, nursery and open spaces was gained at Techscape where he was the business unit manager of open spaces for four years and managed water and wastewater projects for a number of years.
 

Mike Tucker

Mike holds a National Certificate in Horticulture and is a member of the Royal NZ Institute of Horticulture. He is currently responsible for maintenance of sports fields in Waitakere City, as well as parks and sports parks in the central and western half of Auckland, Hauraki Gulf Islands, and active cemeteries. Mike has worked in supervisory roles on the Eastern and Tamaki Maungakiekie Neighbourhood Reserves and Central Premier Parks contracts prior to joining the City Parks Services management team in 2004. Mike's dedication to customer service has been instrumental in driving the performance of his team.
 

Richard Duimel

Richard has a passion for delivering quality service to the customer and a focus on developing his team. He has more than 25 years' experience in the horticultural industry. Richard currently manages the western streetscapes contract for the Auckland Council. His previous experience includes working for the former Mt Albert Borough Council, Western Springs Lakeside and then Auckland City Council. Following the inception of City Parks Services, he was responsible for the parks maintenance contracts and then full facility asset maintenance within the streetscape environment. Richard's strength is ensuring that his teams deliver a quality service to both the client and ratepayer.
 

Malcolm Smith

Recently the City Parks Services executive team was strengthened with the addition of Business Unit Manager, Malcolm Smith. He is managing the Manukau Gardens contract and the Auckland Airport contract as well as the landscaping and plant supply divisions. A qualified horticulturalist, Malcolm came to New Zealand from South Africa in 2000. He had previously held a number of management positions in South Africa, including being a Parks and Conservation Manager in Johannesburg. Most recently, Malcolm has been running his own business working for local authorities. He's also been part owner of a retail nursery in Tauranga for four years so has valuable experience in the plant supply business. For seven years, Malcolm managed the Bay of Plenty Open Space Management and Enviro business for Downer EDI Works, previously Excell Corporation looking after customer contracts in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty region.
 

Greg Sequeira

Greg manages the City Parks Services' business support team and is responsible for the development of financial information systems as well as the traditional responsibilities of financial and accounting services. Greg's focus is on providing excellent financial services to assist the organisation to achieve its strategic goals. Greg has extensive financial experience in large industrial corporations holding senior financial management roles. Greg has just over ten years' experience within the Auckland City Council Treasury Group, and was involved with monitoring investments and funds management settlements. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
