City Parks Services supplies a large range of plants, both for internal landscaping projects and to a variety of landscape practitioners. Most of the plants come from the Kari Street Nursery, so called because of its location in Kari Street, Grafton, on the edge of Auckland Domain. It is only one of City Parks Services nurseries, but it is the only nursery that sells plants wholesale to external parties. Approximately 75% of the plant stock is sold to external parties.

Kari Street Nursery specialises in propagating plants, including eco sourced propagation. Plants for the 21-month native revegetation programme for Waitakere City Council, a total of around 25,000 plants, were all provided by Kari Street nursery.

Kari Street nursery supplies replacement plants for many of Auckland's premier parks and streetscapes. However, the nursery is also able to provide plants for a range of special projects, provided sufficient notice is provided so that plants not in stock can be either grown from seed or sourced from elsewhere.

Many plants are kept at the Kari Street site, and in significant quantities, although the size of plants may vary. For a list of plants kept at the nursery, click here. However, special plant orders can also be pre-ordered for particular projects, such as landscaping for major developments. Obviously a longer timeframe is required for plants grown from seed, however Kari Street nursery is also able to source plants from throughout New Zealand.
