City Parks Services Latest Innovation

City Parks Services is always looking for ways in which we can deliver increased value to our clients and work more efficiently and effectively.

The latest innovation to be brought online is a Wide Area Boom Sprayer for use primarily on sports fields.

Business Development Manager, Rob Rowe, wanted to find a way to spray sports fields more cost effectively and efficiently. His investigations led him to consider how farmers spray their fields. The result was a modified ute with an 8 metre boom that unfolds to the ground.

Using a fully computerised spray mechanism controlled from within the cab, chemicals are sprayed accurately onto the field. Spray rates are calculated in accordance with the speed of the vehicle and a GPS system ensures no area is sprayed twice.

The wind foils prevent wind drift and the vehicle has a gun and hose for additional applications where needed.

Carrying a 1150 litre tank, the unit has a large mixing capacity and, although aimed at sports fields, it can be used in other areas.
